As with all worksurfaces, some measures should be taken to prevent damage or excessive wear. In normal use, clean stone surfaces regularly with water containing soap or a mild detergent, with a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse off surfaces with a clean soft cloth, avoiding the use of abrasive cleaning products or materials. Please note that strongly coloured foodstuffs can stain the stone surface. Always use pan stands and trivets to protect the surface from excessive heat. Never cut items directly on the worksurface. Dull patches that can occur through high wear and surface deposits can be restored by the use of polishing cream.
